The International Olympic Committee takes the decision to cancel the medal ceremony following the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport related to the case of the ROC figure skater
The Executive Council (EC) of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is interested in the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The decision is to allow snowboarder Kamila Valyaeva (the Russian Olympic Committee) to continue competing at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is bound by the law, so it will allow it to compete in the women's singles competition on Tuesday 15 February 2022 and on 17 February 2022 if it qualifies.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) made it clear that today's decision by the Specialized Chamber is not a decision on whether Valeeva was in violation of anti-doping rules instead.
It was limited to the possibility of Miss Valeeva being temporarily suspended from Olympic competition or not, after the results of a positive sample taken from her on December 25, 2021.
The problem has not yet been resolved due to the incompleteness of this positive sample.

It is only after the completion of the treatment process that Ms Valeeva can be determined and sanctioned in violation of the World Anti-Doping Regulations (WADC).
The incompleteness of the scene led to the IOC's Executive Board (EB) taking the following decisions, after preliminary consultations with the respective National Olympic Committees (NOCs):
In fairness to all athletes, it would not be appropriate to hold a team medal celebration in figure skating during the Beijing 2022 Winter Games.
The reason for this is because otherwise it would involve an athlete who, on the one hand, failed a doping test and did not go to check it out.
If Miss Valeeva finishes in the top three in the women's singles competition, there will be no flower or medal ceremonies during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
In fairness, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) requested that the 25th competitor be allowed to participate in the free skating competition, which was already held on February 17.
