Emmy Awards - The concert, which had a lot of performances, was dominated by British shows such as Tiblaso and The Crown.

While last year's party highlighted the Western nature of having a virtual awards show in the middle of a pandemic, the 73rd Emmy Awards largely celebrated the shows that kept us busy when we were locked inside for months.

Attending the personal ceremonies held at Lalive, was a step towards normalcy. At the same time, a new normal was being built in the television landscape as broadcasting services both old and new were crowned with some of the most sought-after Academy Awards.

Who has won the most Emmy awards?

Winner Ted Lasso

The Richmond players and staff are testaments to the verbal strength of Ted Lasso's new series, which earned a fantastic comedy series on Apple TV and was crowned Emmy Awards, plus acting wins for Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and Brett Goldstein seemed like a foregone conclusion for Best Part of 2021. To keep the comparisons in the spirit of the series, perhaps the other comics attempting to contend for the top prizes against Ted Lasso and facing the treble-winning Manchester United were inevitable defeat.

Netflix winner

With key pillars such as the succession and Saul's calling the best approaching, this is no stranger to winning the crown this year.

Any drama that could stand in the way of the outstanding drama series The Crown didn't have much eligibility in its first three seasons but season four swept all categories of drama and won all seven awards.

Olivia Colman defeated co-star Emma Corinne as a leading actress.

Winner Seth Rogen

As the first Emmy Award presenter, Seth Rogen articulated what many at-home viewers were thinking: This outdoor setting certainly didn't feel like...the outdoors.

“I wouldn’t have come to this,” Rogen said, blurring the line between the punch line and actual scorn. "Why is there a roof? And it is important here, that there are three chandeliers and more than we can say is that we shall not kill Eugene Levy tonight."

Although a COVID vaccination was a requirement for attendees, I was a little upset watching the awards show with a group of celebs not wearing masks like sardines in a glorified tent (with, yes, three chandeliers). Let's hope the Emmys don't follow up with reports of hacking injuries in a few days.Since Rogen is right: We must protect Eugene at all costs.

The news of the Emmy Awards was popular in South African cities such as Sandton, Randburg, Adnval, Lethabong, and Roodepoort.
